Supplement Locker

My Role:

I was given the design for this site, and it was up to me to develop it in HTML and transfer it to BigCommerce, this was my first Big Commerce Site where I went in knowing what I was doing and had a plan on how I was going to develop the site using the div classes and IDs that BigCommerce’s templates used.

The development of the site was only half of the job, after building out the site, I had to figure out the settings so that the site could accept payments, and that the orders were shipped properly, as well as keeping the client in the loop and training him on how to make updates to his slider, and products.

Moojoes

My Role:

Moojoes was a site that wanted to move from their current E-Commerce platform to BigCommerce, I was given the design and this was probably one of my easiest development projects that I worked on. Everything transferred from their old site to the new site smoothly.

The only issue I had was the setting up the shipping and tax settings, since the company is based in Canada, and there are different tax rates for each providence, as well as different costs for shipping to Canada and the United States. The other issue I faced with this project was that their hosting company for some reason reset their server, redirecting their domain name to their old site and not BigCommerce, it took about an hour to get to the root of this problem, before I figured out what happened, and corrected it.

Millies Gelato

My Role:

For Millies, I was provided a design by the client’s graphic designer, and I had to translate that photoshop PSD into a html Code, and to seamlessly match their BigCommerce store with a WordPress blog, the CSS stylesheet doesn’t translate 100% so I had to take time and tweak both sites to make sure they work

Jackie & Eddie’s

My Role:
Jackie and Eddie’s BigCommerce site was a project that wanted to use a lot of BigCommerce’s built-in features that a lot of our other clients normally do not use. Namely the wish list and, customer address books.

The development of this site was pretty straight forward, the trickiest part of the build was their header, since based on their design there was what looked like many layers, which is an easy thing to do in Photoshop, but having to translate that into HTML and CSS was tricky, nonetheless after a couple of tries I was able to get it work.

After working on this site, I developed a Quality Assurance checklist for our BigCommerce projects, because there were so many small things that we found out about the platform that we needed to check on all out of sites, moving forward.

Sol Venue

My Role:
SOL was a site I designed and built from scratch, this was my very first WordPress site and project I worked on at Coalition Technologies, it was with this site I learned how to create a custom theme for WordPress, and how plugins and content was managed on that platform.

After the was initially built and uploaded, the client’s manager wanted to be able to update the site on their own, using a another site to create flash based slideshows and links, this was easy enough for me to update their theme to accommodate for this, I just had to drop in a piece of HTML code that would call their flash base slide show, over the year they have created and deleted pages, but overall my original design is still there.

Project Type: Website/ E-Commerce

My Role:
Twistband was a project that I came into late in the process, the client was moving their E-Commerce site from one platform to another, which happened to be Magento Go, a stripped down version of the larger more robust Magento CE.

The challenges I faced with this project was that this was the first project we had on Magento Go, and none of the other developers knew much on how it operated. I had to go in and through trial and error update their homepage to match the design they gave us. There were a few exceptions due to the limitations of Magento Go, figuring out how to implement the jQuery slider was a challenge because of how the code is entered, and how the pages are constructed. In the end the client was happy and came back to us for periodic updates.
